Ginger Tea

When I feel my immune system starting to take a beating, I make a big mug of Ginger Tea. This tea is sure to warm you inside and out. Ginger is used for anything from stomach pains to motion sickness to adding a spicy kick to dishes.
This Ginger Tea is combined with Lemon (juice) and Honey. All three ingredients have their own medicinal properties but when combined, they pack a punch against an oncoming cold. I acquired the following recipe some years ago and now will share with you.
Ginger Tea
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 inches Ginger Root (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/2 Lemon (juice)
In a pan, add the water. Turn heat to high and bring to a boil. Add the grated Ginger Root. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes. After the time, turn the heat off, add the Lemon juice and Honey. Put a strainer over a mug and slowly pour the tea. Enjoy!

  1. Nasty cold in our house right now so I'm trying this out for hubby and me. It's on the stove right now so hopefully it helps, because my throat is KILLING me!
